Due Sorelle (“Two Sisters”) commemorates the lives of Rick's sisters, Janet and Judy, who succumbed to breast cancer. This wine comes from Dry Creek Valley Cabernet Sauvignon grapes graciously donated by Martorana Family Vineyards, and “foot-made” by the wonderful women of the extended Amphora family.
The 2005 Due Sorelle opens with a dusty, briary cabernet aromas, with flavors of red currant and plum, showing medium weight, fine tannins, and a long finish. While very tasty right now, it will certainly benefit from additional bottle age through at least 2015.
Due Sorelle is created as a tribute to the survivors of all life’s challenges, and meant to be enjoyed in a spirit of love and appreciation.
Net proceeds from the sale of Due Sorelle will be donated to the Breast Care Center at Sutter Medical Center in Santa Rosa, CA, to help fund mammograms for the uninsured women of our community. Because of this, please note that there are no discounts on this wine.
