We have sourced this 100% Pommard clone Pinot Noir since 2007. This vineyard grows at an elevation of 500 feet at the north end of Lakeville Vineyard, in the so-called Petaluma Gap area of the Sonoma Coast appellation. This fruit has been very consistent year after year, with deep color, and a densely–packed dark fruit character of cherry and plum, along with a touch of cranberry. There’s a mineral note, and just a hint of nutmeg to make it all the more interesting.  This wine is smooth and rich on the palate from front to back. This is a great candidate for pairing with dishes featuring the leafy, forest-floor character of seasonal mushrooms.

Amphora got me hooked on their Pinot's since their 2009 bottle. My wonderful husband got me this bottle for our anniversary this year and we jokingly (not so jokingly) call this bottled 'red butter'. It is so darn smooth and flavorful. Oh my goodness, it's good.
