Our fifth vintage of Teroldego from the Heringer Vineyard shows a unique and seductive profile: deep black purple color, an intriguing nose of earthiness mixed with blackberries with canned blueberries, pomegranate syrup and a hint of Australian licorice on the palate.  The lingering finish trails off with cassis and dark plum. Pronounced “Tey-ROLL-dey-go”. This varietal hails from northeast Italy, in the province of Trentino-Alto Adige. A rarity even in Italy, it is positively scarce in the “New World”,  and Amphora is one of only five or so wineries producing this varietal in California!

This was such a wonderful surprise! Dark fruit and a silky finish. Just a small amount of grip on the end to let you know it can still age for a short time longer makes me wonder about giving a little time to me second bottle - if I can wait. This stands by itself well but would be a great wine with any creamy dish. Well done!
